Anthony A. Trask

Anthony A. Trask

Anthony A. Trask was born and raised in rural Maine. As the son of a game warden, Tony lived in all corners of the State before his family settled in the Augusta area. He received a degree in journalism from the University of Maine and then moved to Boston where he earned his law degree at Suffolk University in 1995. Tony spent most of the following decade in Boston, litigating civil matters of all kinds in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts. While there Tony wrote and lectured on construction litigation.

In 2004, Tony moved to northern Maine to practice with his brother at Currier & Trask where he spent six years doing trial and appellate work. In late 2010, Tony migrated south and joined Rudman Winchell where he continues to focus his practice in all areas of litigation including family, criminal, and civil matters involving personal injuries, contracts, and property disputes.

Tony is an active member of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, the Aroostook County and Penobscot County Bar Associations, the John Waldo Ballou Inn of Court, and the Maine State Bar Association.  He is a recurring faculty member at the MSBA Family Law Institute and has published articles on grandparents rights and de facto parenthood.  Tony has also written a number of brief articles on this website on various family law topics.

In addition, Tony was recently appointed by the Maine Supreme Court to serve as a governing commissioner for the Maine Assistance Program for Lawyers and Judges (MAP), which confidentially identifies and provides assistance to members of the legal profession dealing with alcoholism, drug abuse and mental or emotional disorders.

When not at work Tony enjoys running, fly fishing and following the Red Sox, but there is nothing he values more than time with his son, Tyler, and twin daughters, Brooke and Paige.
