NLRB Proposes Significant Changes to Rules for Union Representation Campaigns and Elections

The National Labor Relations Board issued proposed rules on June 22, 2011, that would significantly change the way union campaigns and secret ballot elections on union representation are conducted. There is a comment period. Here is a link to the Board’s announcement and related materials:

These proposed changes are intended to make it easier for unions to organize workplaces that up to now have not had union representation. Employers concerned about that possibility would do well to pay attention to the progress of these proposed changes.
