Starboard Leadership Consulting, an affiliate of Rudman Winchell, is pleased to announce that they have added Mike Hyde, of Trenton Maine, to their team of consultants. Hyde will join Starboard as a Consulting Partner and brings with him 40 years of experience in nonprofit management, most recently as Vice President for External Affairs and Strategic Partnerships at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor.
“Mike’s expertise in board governance and strategic planning will be a great match for our Maine clients,” said Jeff Wahlstrom, President of Starboard. “In addition, his experience in fundraising, government affairs and public policy will broaden what we can offer.”
At The Jackson Laboratory Hyde led fundraising programs, built understanding of the Laboratory and its programs among key constituencies and represented the organization in policy discussions at various levels of government. He helped to secure the approval of the Connecticut legislature for a $291 million expansion of the Laboratory into that state. He also supported a major reorganization of the board of trustees and reshaped the Lab’s branding and communications programs.
Before joining the Laboratory in 2006, Mike served in senior management positions at Oberlin College, Allegheny College, and Alfred University. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
“I’m excited about joining Starboard,” said Hyde, “and having the opportunity to work alongside such a talented and highly regarded consulting team.”
