Jane E. Skelton
Jane E. Skelton, Attorney at Law, has practiced law in Bangor since 1988 and her focus is on elder law. She is a past chair of the Elder Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association, and she is a member of the Special Needs Alliance, Elder Counsel, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Jane serves on the Probate and Trust Law Advisory Committee which reports to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
Jane is a 7th generation Mainer and a 4th generation attorney. Her great-grandfather, grandfather, and father all practiced with the Auburn law firm of Skelton, Taintor & Abbot. Before enrolling in law school, Jane worked as a paralegal in Portland and as a high school teacher in Pittsfield.
Jane lives in Bangor with her husband, Ed Bearor, and they have three children: Joe, Meg, and Tom. Jane enjoys cross-country skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. She also enjoys travel, photography, and reading.
