Kelsey C. Olesen
Attorney Kelsey Olesen practices with the Litigation team at Rudman Winchell. Her negotiating skills, especially with opposing parties, counsel, and representing clients in contested hearings, help her excel both in and out of the courtroom. From her undergraduate days at Quinnipiac University, Kelsey established a strong foundation in law with a double major in Legal Studies and History.
She interned at the State’s Attorney’s office. She attended criminal hearings, helped draft documents, and learned different negotiation strategies to benefit both parties. Before attending law school, Kelsey worked for two top law firms in Boston, affording her a unique perspective in all aspects of the legal field.
During Law School, Kelsey was sworn in as a student attorney in Maine. This allowed her to practice law under a licensed attorney’s supervision. In this position, she worked closely with clients on a wide range of civil legal matters. This work included preparing clients to represent themselves in court. She represented them in negotiations with opposing counsel and prepared court filings.
Kelsey also represented clients who wanted to obtain protection from abuse orders at Lewiston District Court. At the University of Maine School of Law, Kelsey also served as an editor of the Ocean & Coastal Law Journal and participated in the Jessup Moot Court. Following her graduation from Law School, Kelsey worked for a boutique firm in Portland.
She helped hundreds of people negotiate, try, and settle their personal injury cases. She actively negotiated with opposing counsel, insurance adjusters, and health insurance companies to get the best results for her clients. This work and her previous experience have guided her passion for litigation and ensuring people are adequately protected.
Kelsey’s years of experience have taught her the importance of working closely with clients on every aspect of their civil legal matters. Kelsey would be honored to work with you to help solve your problem. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys reading nonfiction history, spending time with her soon-to-be husband, and playing with their dog.
