Sarah K. Barr


Sarah Barr joined Rudman Winchell in 2018 and practices with the Maine Elder Law Firm. Her practice includes estate planning, long-term care planning for seniors seeking Maine Medicaid (MaineCare) benefits, guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, and probate administration. Sarah currently serves as Secretary for the Elder Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association. She is also a member of ElderCounsel, WealthCounsel, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Prior to joining Rudman Winchell, Sarah practiced for three years as an appellate litigator, representing disabled veterans. She also spent time in the small Pacific island country of Palau, where she worked as legal counsel for Palau’s House of Delegates and learned to SCUBA dive.

Sarah is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School in Boston, and Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. She grew up in Rhode Island but quickly fell in love with Maine after a visit to Moosehead Lake. Sarah lives in Hampden with her husband Josh. She enjoys yoga, road races, book club, and hiking.
