Title Abstractor – Commercial Real Estate

Rudman Winchell is seeking an experienced title abstractor for our busy Real Estate practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Research titles, deeds, wills and related documents to establish property ownership
  • Copy or summarize recorded documents, such as leases, right of ways, and judgments affecting specific property
  • Examine liens, judgments, leases, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to verify legal description, ownership and restrictions
  • Provide quality research and reports based on attorney and client needs and criteria
  • Meet deadlines set by respective attorney

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years’ experience in the area of commercial real estate preferred, although other real estate experience will be considered
  • Have a working knowledge of county websites to obtain owners of record, property taxes and legal descriptions for real estate parcels
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documents to obtain and understand legal property descriptions
  • Strong computer skills necessary, with at least basic familiarity with standard Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word
  • Comprehensive knowledge of judgments and attachments to real estate
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively alone or as a member of a team
  • Responsiveness to multiple and changing priorities
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attentive to detail and deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various county registry offices if necessary

Compensation for this full-time 40-hour position is commensurate with experience and includes an excellent benefits package.  All inquiries will be held in strict confidence.
