Title Abstractor – Commercial Real Estate
Rudman Winchell is seeking an experienced title abstractor for our busy Real Estate practice.
Responsibilities:
- Research titles, deeds, wills and related documents to establish property ownership
- Copy or summarize recorded documents, such as leases, right of ways, and judgments affecting specific property
- Examine liens, judgments, leases, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to verify legal description, ownership and restrictions
- Provide quality research and reports based on attorney and client needs and criteria
- Meet deadlines set by respective attorney
Qualifications:
- 1+ years’ experience in the area of commercial real estate preferred, although other real estate experience will be considered
- Have a working knowledge of county websites to obtain owners of record, property taxes and legal descriptions for real estate parcels
- Ability to interpret complex legal documents to obtain and understand legal property descriptions
- Strong computer skills necessary, with at least basic familiarity with standard Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word
- Comprehensive knowledge of judgments and attachments to real estate
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively alone or as a member of a team
- Responsiveness to multiple and changing priorities
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attentive to detail and deadlines
- Ability and willingness to travel to various county registry offices if necessary
Compensation for this full-time 40-hour position is commensurate with experience and includes an excellent benefits package. All inquiries will be held in strict confidence.
