Rachel Trafton attended and participated in Housing Solutions for Maine’s New Age, a conference and planning charrette that was hosted by the Maine Council on Aging in Belfast, Maine on May 30, 2018. For anyone interest in housing options that could help older Mainers age in place and in their communities, be sure to check out the conference report.

The facilitated planning conference brought together a diverse group of professionals and community leaders to learn about and plan to develop emerging housing models that help people age at home and in their communities. The conference focused on the following models: Home Repair & Modification, Accessory Dwelling Units, Small Homes, and Shared Housing. The report summarizes these options and the discussions of these options at the workshop.
